Gilbert & Barnhill, P.A. is a boutique law firm located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, providing full service real estate needs including representation in residential and commercial real estate purchases, refinances, and home equity lines of credit. Representation includes drafting and negotiating contracts, preparing closing document, reviewing title, and providing title insurance through Commonwealth Land Title Insurance and Chicago Title Insurance Company.

Founded in 1997, Elizabeth Barnhill and Heather Gilbert have strived to maintain excellent client relations and customer service to their clients to make “living in the lowcountry” an easy transition.  Gilbert & Barnhill, P.A. provides services throughout the lowcountry area including Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties.

Heather Caison Gilbert, a native of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1994.  Before starting her own practice, she worked for the Honorable Robert E. Watson, in Moncks Corner.  In 1996, Heather started her own practice in Mt. Pleasant, and in 1997,  partnered with Elizabeth Hutto Barnhill.

Heather holds a B. A. degree in International Studies and English from the University of South Carolina where she graduated with honors in 1991.  She is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston Bar Association.  She is an active member of St. Andrews Church in Mt. Pleasant.  Heather lives on Daniel Island with her husband, Britt Gilbert, and their daughters, Evan and Elle.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Georgetown, South Carolina.  In 1992, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, with a minor in Business Writing from Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. Upon graduation from the University  of South Carolina School of Law in 1995, Elizabeth served as a law clerk to the Honorable David H. Maring, Sr., 13th Judicial Circuit.   After a short time in Greenville, SC, serving as an Assistant Solicitor in the Greenville County Solicitor’s Office, Elizabeth and her husband made the move back to the Lowcountry. Shortly after her move, Elizabeth partnered with Heather Gilbert.

Elizabeth resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband, Bill, and their three children, Mary Beth, Will, and Anna. They are active members of Eastbridge Presbyterian Church PCA. Elizabeth is a member do the South Carolina Bar Association and the Charleston County Bar Association.
